Alberta Open Farm Days

In 2017, Alberta Open Farm Days will have more than 100 host sites and over 20 culinary events during the August 19th and 20th weekend. The CEO of the Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies, Tim Carson, encourages anyone interested to head to the website to plan a route.

There is just over a week left to plan an Alberta Open Farm Days route.
Visitors will have two days this year to experience informative tours and culinary events.
Tim Carson is the CEO of the Alberta Association of Agricultural Societies. Carson says Open Farm Days provides a province-wide chance to highlight the importance of agriculture.
He details how Alberta Open Farm Days got started. 
Carson says there has been a significant increase in participation during the short history of the event.
He notes they have seen an increase in breweries, distilleries and value added ag-based products.
Carson explains what the role of ag societies is in open farm days.
Among the Central Alberta locations participating in Open Farm Days are Eagle Creek Farms & the Bowden Sun Maze, Fallentimber Meadery, Reese Cattle Company and the Jungle Farm.
