Red Deer RCMP Remind Drivers About Dangers Of Unlocked & Idling Vehicles
From January 1st through the 13th, the Red Deer City RCMP Detachment has received 52 stolen vehicle complaints. Police say 16 of those vehicles were either running and/or had the keys in them. Red Deer RCMP remind motorists that vehicles left running and unattended present a crime of opportunity for criminals. It takes mere seconds for a thief to drive away in a vehicle that has been left unlocked and running.

Potential Impact of Provincial Changes To Doctor Billing Rules Discussed By Olds Council
Alberta Health Minister Tyler Shandro says reform is needed on how doctors bill for service. Shandro's ministry says data shows too many doctors are seeing patients for routine visits but are billing the province an extra fee meant for visits involving multiple or complex issues. Shandro says this shows the current system needs fixing. The province is currently proposing changes to extend the time before the extra fee kicks in.
Westview Co-op - Successful Cram The Cruiser Fundraiser In Olds, Another Coming Up In Carstairs
The Westview Co-op food store in Carstairs has teamed up with the RCMP and they will be set up with a police car to fill up with donations on Saturday, January 18th from 10am until 2pm. General Manager Dennis Laing says they had great support for the "Cram the Cruiser" event at the Westview Co-op food store in Olds on Saturday, January 11th. According to Laing, 2 police cruisers were filled with over 27-hundred pounds of food for the Mountain View Food Bank.
